           The history of the college

           The educational institution Linguistic College” was founded on August 4, 1994 at the Kazakh Abylai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages, on the initiative of Rector Kazumya Kunanbayeva S.S., the College was the first in the city of Almaty to provide foreign language education.

           Since its foundation, the Linguistic College has become a Republican methodological association specializing in Translation.  

           The college conducts training in only one specialty:

           4S023101000 – translation studies

           Qualification -02310101 – translator

           Today, the College is working in the market of educational services for more than 25 years, is a specialized educational institution in this specialty.  

           Language of instruction: Kazakh, Russian

           Form of study: full-time

           Terms of study: on the basis of 9 classes -2 years 10 months;

                                         On the basis of 11 classes – 1 year 10 months

           Promoting multilingualism, the Linguistic College provides training in a second foreign language: as Chinese, Turkish, French, German and Korean.

           Groups in teaching languages (Kazakh / Russian, English, second foreign) and computer science are divided into subgroups.

           Upon admission, applicants are interviewed in English (Speaking).

           Over the years, more than 2,900 graduates, having mastered English, have built their successful professional careers, studied and continue to study at KAZUMOIMYA, at foreign universities under the Bolashak, Flex and other international grants programs. 

           It should be noted that the college has a good rating of students’ knowledge in English, as evidenced by the IELTS graduates passing 6-7 points.

           Teaching three status languages, which was reflected in the national project “Trinity of Languages”, defined the mission of our college: “Training of competitive, multilingual specialists with the necessary level of professional and general cultural competencies in demand in the market of translation services.”
